Description
DeVilbiss Advance HD Gravity Feed Conventional Spray Gun Kit (ADV-G430-14)
The DeVilbiss Advance HD Gravity Feed Conventional Spray Gun Kit (ADV-G430-14) is a mid-sized industrial spray gun built for finishing applications with conventional atomization, a compact fan pattern, and controlled fluid output. This kit includes the Advance HD gravity-feed gun body with the No. 430 Conventional air cap, 1.4mm stainless steel fluid tip and needle, and a 568mL standard gravity cup — ready to spray out of the box. The 430 Conventional cap's focused pattern paired with the 1.4mm nozzle produces a high air-to-fluid ratio through a compact fan for smooth, precise finishing on light to medium-viscosity coatings.
What's in the Kit
The ADV-G430-14 ships with the Advance HD gravity-feed gun body, No. 430 Conventional air cap, 1.4mm stainless steel fluid tip and needle, and a 568mL standard gravity cup (GFC-501). The gun features a 1/4" universal thread air inlet and a 3/8" universal thread fluid inlet (both accept BSP and NPS connectors). Optional accessories include the blue polyester gravity cup for difficult fluids (GFC-511), DeKups disposable cup adapter, stainless steel fluid filter kit (VSA-512), and tungsten carbide or hardened tips and needles for abrasive materials. Hardened and tungsten carbide options are available in the 1.4mm size.
No. 430 Conventional Air Cap Performance
The No. 430 Conventional air cap operates at a recommended inlet pressure of 50 psi (3.5 bar) with an air consumption of 12.0 scfm (339 L/min) and produces a typical fan pattern of approximately 200mm (7.9"). The 430 is the most compact-pattern conventional cap in the Advance HD range — it concentrates the spray into a tight, finely atomized fan that puts more material on target with less overspray than wider-fan caps like the 497. The 1.4mm fluid tip's controlled delivery combined with the 430's focused pattern and conventional atomization pressure produces an exceptionally smooth finish. This configuration excels on finish topcoats, light enamels, sealers, lacquers, and medium-viscosity coatings on smaller parts, narrow surfaces, profiles, and detailed work where surface quality and precise material placement are the primary concerns. The 430's moderate 12.0 scfm air consumption keeps compressed air demands practical for shops with limited compressor capacity or multi-gun setups.
Why Conventional Atomization
Conventional spray guns operate at higher air pressures than HVLP or Trans-Tech compliant guns, producing the finest atomization and smoothest finish quality available. Where regulatory compliance permits, conventional atomization delivers the highest finish quality and fastest application rates in industrial spray finishing. The 430 cap's compact pattern concentrates the conventional atomization advantage into a smaller footprint, making it especially effective for detail-oriented finishing.
Why Gravity Feed
Gravity-feed spray guns use a top-mounted cup that delivers material to the gun body by gravity. This format offers quick color changes, easy cleanup, and efficient material use — the cup drains completely with minimal waste. The included 568mL gravity cup provides practical capacity for mid-size production runs, touch-up work, and applications where multiple colors are cycled throughout the day.

Built for High-Demand Industrial Finishing
The Advance HD achieves superior atomization through high-capacity air passages and a separate balanced air valve that provides unrestricted airflow through the gun body. The heavily anodized aluminum alloy construction is built for durability in demanding production environments. Stainless steel fluid tips, needles, and passageways come standard for compatibility with both solvent-based and waterborne materials. The gun is CE marked and fully ATEX approved for use in hazardous atmospheres.
Ergonomic Design for Reduced Operator Fatigue
The Advance HD features a contoured handle design that greatly reduces RSI and operator fatigue during extended spray sessions. Increased finger space, lighter trigger pull tension, reduced trigger travel, and a self-adjusting PTFE needle packing assembly all contribute to a gun that is comfortable to use shift after shift. The built-in air inlet adjuster "cheater" valve provides at-the-gun pressure control for quick adjustments without leaving the spray area.
