Description
DeVilbiss Advance HD Pressure Feed Conventional Spray Gun Kit (ADV-P430-085)
The DeVilbiss Advance HD Pressure Feed Conventional Spray Gun Kit (ADV-P430-085) is a mid-sized industrial spray gun configured for pressure-feed operation with conventional atomization, a compact fan pattern, and an ultra-fine 0.85mm nozzle. This kit includes the Advance HD pressure-feed gun body with the No. 430 Conventional air cap and a 0.85mm stainless steel fluid tip and needle. Gun only — no cup included. This is the finest-output compact conventional configuration in the Advance HD range — the 430 cap's focused pattern combined with the smallest standard nozzle delivers precision thin-film deposition for specialty applications where minimal material use and maximum atomization quality are essential.
What's in the Kit
The ADV-P430-085 ships with the Advance HD pressure-feed gun body, No. 430 Conventional air cap, and 0.85mm stainless steel fluid tip and needle. The pressure-feed configuration connects to external fluid supply systems including pressure tanks, remote cups, and recirculating lines. The gun features a 1/4" universal thread air inlet and a 3/8" universal thread fluid inlet (both accept BSP and NPS connectors). Optional accessories include the stainless steel fluid filter kit (VSA-512) and tungsten carbide or hardened tips and needles for abrasive materials.
No. 430 Conventional Air Cap Performance
The No. 430 Conventional air cap operates at a recommended inlet pressure of 50 psi (3.5 bar) with an air consumption of 12.0 scfm (339 L/min) and produces a typical fan pattern of approximately 200mm (7.9"). The 430 is the most compact-pattern conventional cap in the Advance HD range — it concentrates the spray into a tight, finely atomized fan that puts more material on target with less overspray than wider-fan caps. Paired with the 0.85mm fluid tip, this configuration produces the highest air-to-fluid ratio in the entire 430 cap lineup — resulting in the finest atomization and thinnest film builds the compact conventional platform can deliver. This setup is purpose-built for very low-viscosity materials including release agents, mold coatings, lubricants, light stains, dyes, thin chemical treatments, and specialty finishes where precision deposition with minimal overspray is critical. The 430's moderate 12.0 scfm air consumption keeps compressed air demands practical even in multi-gun environments.
Why Conventional Atomization
Conventional spray guns operate at higher air pressures than HVLP or Trans-Tech compliant guns, producing the finest atomization and smoothest finish quality available. Where regulatory compliance permits, conventional atomization delivers the highest finish quality and fastest application rates in industrial spray finishing. For ultra-fine work with a 0.85mm nozzle, the 430's conventional operating pressure ensures complete, consistent material break-up that lower-pressure technologies cannot match at this nozzle size.
Why Pressure Feed
Pressure-feed spray guns deliver material from an external pressurized source rather than a gravity or suction cup. This eliminates the weight of a cup on the gun body, reducing operator fatigue on long spray sessions. More importantly, pressure feed enables continuous material supply without stopping to refill. For ultra-fine nozzle sizes like the 0.85mm, pressure feed is especially important because it provides the positive fluid pressure needed to maintain consistent material flow through the small orifice over extended spray cycles — something gravity and suction feed cannot reliably deliver at this nozzle size. The Advance HD pressure-feed body maintains the same high-capacity air passages and balanced air valve as the gravity and suction versions for identical atomization quality.

Built for High-Demand Industrial Finishing
The Advance HD achieves superior atomization through high-capacity air passages and a separate balanced air valve that provides unrestricted airflow through the gun body. The heavily anodized aluminum alloy construction is built for durability in demanding production environments. Stainless steel fluid tips, needles, and passageways come standard for compatibility with both solvent-based and waterborne materials. The gun is CE marked and fully ATEX approved for use in hazardous atmospheres.
Ergonomic Design for Reduced Operator Fatigue
The Advance HD features a contoured handle design that greatly reduces RSI and operator fatigue during extended spray sessions. Increased finger space, lighter trigger pull tension, reduced trigger travel, and a self-adjusting PTFE needle packing assembly all contribute to a gun that is comfortable to use shift after shift. The built-in air inlet adjuster "cheater" valve provides at-the-gun pressure control for quick adjustments without leaving the spray area.
