Description
DeVilbiss Advance HD Suction Feed Conventional Spray Gun Kit (ADV-S430-18)
The DeVilbiss Advance HD Suction Feed Conventional Spray Gun Kit (ADV-S430-18) is a mid-sized industrial spray gun built for production finishing environments where conventional atomization and maximum output are the priority. This kit includes the Advance HD suction-feed gun body with the No. 430 Conventional air cap, 1.8mm stainless steel fluid tip and needle, and a 1-liter suction cup — ready to spray out of the box. The 430 Conventional cap paired with the 1.8mm nozzle delivers fine atomization at higher air pressure for a superior finish quality on medium-viscosity industrial coatings.
What's in the Kit
The ADV-S430-18 ships with the Advance HD suction-feed gun body, No. 430 Conventional air cap, 1.8mm stainless steel fluid tip and needle, and a 1-liter suction cup (KR-556-1-B). The gun features a 1/4" universal thread air inlet and a 3/8" universal thread fluid inlet (both accept BSP and NPS connectors). Optional accessories include the 568mL standard gravity cup (GFC-501), blue polyester gravity cup for difficult fluids (GFC-511), stainless steel fluid filter kit (VSA-512), and tungsten carbide or hardened tips and needles for abrasive materials.
No. 430 Conventional Air Cap Performance
The No. 430 Conventional air cap operates at a recommended inlet pressure of 50 psi (3.5 bar) with an air consumption of 12.0 scfm (339 L/min) and produces a typical fan pattern of approximately 200mm (7.9"). The 430 is a compact-pattern conventional cap that delivers concentrated, finely atomized spray for controlled application on smaller parts, detailed work, and applications where a tighter pattern is preferred over wide-fan coverage. The higher operating pressure produces excellent break-up of the coating material for a smooth, high-quality finish. With the 1.8mm fluid tip, this configuration handles medium-viscosity materials including industrial enamels, lacquers, single-component primers, stains, and protective coatings.
Why Conventional Atomization
Conventional spray guns operate at higher air pressures than HVLP or Trans-Tech compliant guns, producing finer atomization and a smoother finish — particularly on materials that are difficult to break up at lower pressures. Where regulatory compliance permits, conventional atomization delivers the highest finish quality and fastest application rates. The 430 cap's moderate air consumption of 12.0 scfm keeps compressed air demands reasonable while still delivering the atomization quality that conventional technology is known for.
Why Suction Feed
Suction-feed spray guns draw material up from a cup mounted below the gun body using the venturi effect created by compressed air flowing through the air cap. This format is well-suited to applications where frequent color changes are needed, where the gun will be used at various angles, or where a simple and proven setup is preferred. The included 1-liter cup provides ample material capacity for mid-size production runs without the weight of a top-mounted gravity cup.
Built for High-Demand Industrial Finishing
The Advance HD achieves superior atomization through high-capacity air passages and a separate balanced air valve that provides unrestricted airflow through the gun body. The heavily anodized aluminum alloy construction is built for durability in demanding production environments. Stainless steel fluid tips, needles, and passageways come standard for compatibility with both solvent-based and waterborne materials. The gun is CE marked and fully ATEX approved for use in hazardous atmospheres.
Ergonomic Design for Reduced Operator Fatigue
The Advance HD features a contoured handle design that greatly reduces RSI and operator fatigue during extended spray sessions. Increased finger space, lighter trigger pull tension, reduced trigger travel, and a self-adjusting PTFE needle packing assembly all contribute to a gun that is comfortable to use shift after shift. The built-in air inlet adjuster "cheater" valve provides at-the-gun pressure control for quick adjustments without leaving the spray area.
