DeVilbiss Advance HD Gravity Feed HVLP Spray Gun Kit (ADV-G506-18)
The DeVilbiss Advance HD Gravity Feed HVLP Spray Gun Kit (ADV-G506-18) is a mid-sized industrial spray gun built for finishing applications with HVLP compliant atomization and low air consumption. This kit includes the Advance HD gravity-feed gun body with the No. 506 HVLP air cap, 1.8mm stainless steel fluid tip and needle, and a 568mL standard gravity cup — ready to spray out of the box. The 506 HVLP cap consumes roughly 40% less air than the larger 507 while still delivering full HVLP compliance, and paired with the 1.8mm nozzle it provides solid fluid output through a focused pattern for efficient finishing of medium-viscosity industrial coatings.
What's in the Kit
The ADV-G506-18 ships with the Advance HD gravity-feed gun body, No. 506 HVLP air cap, 1.8mm stainless steel fluid tip and needle, and a 568mL standard gravity cup (GFC-501). The gun features a 1/4" universal thread air inlet and a 3/8" universal thread fluid inlet (both accept BSP and NPS connectors). Optional accessories include the blue polyester gravity cup for difficult fluids (GFC-511), DeKups disposable cup adapter, stainless steel fluid filter kit (VSA-512), and tungsten carbide or hardened tips and needles for abrasive materials. Hardened and tungsten carbide options are available in the 1.8mm size.
No. 506 HVLP Air Cap Performance
The No. 506 HVLP air cap operates at a recommended inlet pressure of 19 psi (1.3 bar) with an air consumption of 10.6 scfm (300 L/min) and produces a typical fan pattern of approximately 305mm (12.0"). The 506 is the most air-efficient HVLP cap in the Advance HD gravity range — it delivers full HVLP-compliant atomization at significantly lower air consumption than the high-capacity 507. The more compact 305mm fan pattern provides focused coverage that is well-suited for smaller parts, narrower surfaces, and applications where the 507's wide 400mm fan would create unnecessary overspray. The 1.8mm fluid tip provides strong general-purpose fluid delivery for medium-viscosity materials with good atomization across the 506's focused fan. This combination is an excellent choice for shops with limited compressor capacity, multi-gun setups sharing a single air supply, or applications where material placement accuracy matters more than wide-area coverage speed.
Why Gravity Feed
Gravity-feed spray guns use a top-mounted cup that delivers material to the gun body by gravity. This format offers quick color changes, easy cleanup, and efficient material use — the cup drains completely with minimal waste. The included 568mL gravity cup provides practical capacity for mid-size production runs, touch-up work, and applications where multiple colors are cycled throughout the day.

Built for High-Demand Industrial Finishing
The Advance HD achieves superior atomization through high-capacity air passages and a separate balanced air valve that provides unrestricted airflow through the gun body. The heavily anodized aluminum alloy construction is built for durability in demanding production environments. Stainless steel fluid tips, needles, and passageways come standard for compatibility with both solvent-based and waterborne materials. The gun is CE marked and fully ATEX approved for use in hazardous atmospheres.
Ergonomic Design for Reduced Operator Fatigue
The Advance HD features a contoured handle design that greatly reduces RSI and operator fatigue during extended spray sessions. Increased finger space, lighter trigger pull tension, reduced trigger travel, and a self-adjusting PTFE needle packing assembly all contribute to a gun that is comfortable to use shift after shift. The built-in air inlet adjuster "cheater" valve provides at-the-gun pressure control for quick adjustments without leaving the spray area.
