Description
DeVilbiss Advance HD Pressure Feed HVLP Spray Gun Kit (ADV-P506-10)
The DeVilbiss Advance HD Pressure Feed HVLP Spray Gun Kit (ADV-P506-10) is a mid-sized industrial spray gun configured for pressure-feed operation with HVLP compliant atomization, low air consumption, and a fine 1.0mm nozzle. This kit includes the Advance HD pressure-feed gun body with the No. 506 HVLP air cap and a 1.0mm stainless steel fluid tip and needle. Gun only — no cup included. The air-efficient 506 HVLP cap paired with the small 1.0mm nozzle is purpose-built for fine-finish work on light-viscosity materials — delivering precise, controlled atomization with the lowest air demand of any HVLP configuration in the Advance HD pressure-feed range.
What's in the Kit
The ADV-P506-10 ships with the Advance HD pressure-feed gun body, No. 506 HVLP air cap, and 1.0mm stainless steel fluid tip and needle. The pressure-feed configuration connects to external fluid supply systems including pressure tanks, remote cups, and recirculating lines. The gun features a 1/4" universal thread air inlet and a 3/8" universal thread fluid inlet (both accept BSP and NPS connectors). Optional accessories include the stainless steel fluid filter kit (VSA-512) and tungsten carbide or hardened tips and needles for abrasive materials.
No. 506 HVLP Air Cap Performance
The No. 506 HVLP air cap operates at a recommended inlet pressure of 19 psi (1.3 bar) with an air consumption of 10.6 scfm (300 L/min) and produces a typical fan pattern of approximately 305mm (12.0"). The 506 consumes roughly 40% less air than the larger 507 HVLP cap while still delivering full HVLP-compliant atomization — making it one of the most air-efficient HVLP caps in the Advance HD range. Paired with the 1.0mm fluid tip, this configuration produces the highest air-to-fluid ratio available on the 506 cap, resulting in exceptionally fine atomization and thin, controlled film builds across the 506's focused 305mm fan pattern. This setup excels on light-viscosity materials including stains, dyes, light sealers, wash primers, thin topcoats, and waterborne coatings where even coverage, minimal film build, and a smooth surface finish are all critical. The combination of the 506's low 10.6 scfm air demand with the 1.0mm nozzle's controlled output makes this configuration ideal for shops with limited compressor capacity, multi-gun lines sharing a single air supply, or precision applications where material waste must be minimized.
Why Pressure Feed
Pressure-feed spray guns deliver material from an external pressurized source rather than a gravity or suction cup. This eliminates the weight of a cup on the gun body, reducing operator fatigue on long spray sessions. More importantly, pressure feed enables continuous material supply without stopping to refill — a critical advantage in production environments. For fine nozzle sizes like the 1.0mm, pressure feed also provides the positive fluid pressure needed to maintain consistent material flow through the small orifice over extended spray cycles. The Advance HD pressure-feed body maintains the same high-capacity air passages and balanced air valve as the gravity and suction versions for identical atomization quality.
Built for High-Demand Industrial Finishing
The Advance HD achieves superior atomization through high-capacity air passages and a separate balanced air valve that provides unrestricted airflow through the gun body. The heavily anodized aluminum alloy construction is built for durability in demanding production environments. Stainless steel fluid tips, needles, and passageways come standard for compatibility with both solvent-based and waterborne materials. The gun is CE marked and fully ATEX approved for use in hazardous atmospheres.
Ergonomic Design for Reduced Operator Fatigue
The Advance HD features a contoured handle design that greatly reduces RSI and operator fatigue during extended spray sessions. Increased finger space, lighter trigger pull tension, reduced trigger travel, and a self-adjusting PTFE needle packing assembly all contribute to a gun that is comfortable to use shift after shift. The built-in air inlet adjuster "cheater" valve provides at-the-gun pressure control for quick adjustments without leaving the spray area.
