Description
DeVilbiss Advance HD Pressure Feed HVLP Spray Gun Kit with Nylon Tipped Needle (ADV-P507-14N)
The DeVilbiss Advance HD Pressure Feed HVLP Spray Gun Kit (ADV-P507-14N) is a mid-sized industrial spray gun configured for pressure-feed operation with HVLP compliant atomization and a specialized nylon tipped needle. This kit includes the Advance HD pressure-feed gun body with the No. 507 HVLP air cap, 1.4mm stainless steel fluid tip, and a nylon tipped needle. Gun only — no cup included. The nylon tipped needle replaces the standard stainless steel needle tip with a softer nylon contact point at the fluid nozzle seat — a critical upgrade for coatings that are sensitive to metal contact or prone to premature curing at the tip.
What's in the Kit
The ADV-P507-14N ships with the Advance HD pressure-feed gun body, No. 507 HVLP air cap, 1.4mm stainless steel fluid tip, and nylon tipped needle. The pressure-feed configuration connects to external fluid supply systems including pressure tanks, remote cups, and recirculating lines. The gun features a 1/4" universal thread air inlet and a 3/8" universal thread fluid inlet (both accept BSP and NPS connectors). Optional accessories include the stainless steel fluid filter kit (VSA-512) and standard stainless steel or tungsten carbide replacement tips and needles.
Why a Nylon Tipped Needle
Standard stainless steel needles can act as a heat sink at the fluid nozzle seat, causing certain reactive materials to skin over, gel, or cure prematurely at the tip — leading to spitting, inconsistent spray patterns, and frequent cleaning stops. The nylon tipped needle eliminates metal-to-metal contact at the nozzle seat, reducing heat transfer and chemical reactivity at the point where material exits the gun. This makes the ADV-P507-14N the right choice for catalyzed coatings, moisture-cure urethanes, cyanoacrylates, certain waterborne materials that are sensitive to metallic contamination, and any coating where tip dry or premature curing is a known issue. The nylon tip is a consumable component and should be replaced when wear affects the shut-off seal.
No. 507 HVLP Air Cap Performance
The No. 507 HVLP air cap operates at a recommended inlet pressure of 22 psi (1.5 bar) with an air consumption of 17.3 scfm (490 L/min) and produces a fan pattern of approximately 400mm (15.7"). The 507 is the high-capacity HVLP cap in the DeVilbiss compliant range — it delivers the widest fan pattern available in HVLP with high air volume for fast coverage on large surfaces, all while operating at 0.7 bar (10 psi) at the cap to meet HVLP compliance requirements. The 1.4mm fluid tip provides a controlled mid-range fluid delivery that balances atomization quality with production output, making it suitable for topcoats, enamels, and medium-viscosity coatings.
Why Pressure Feed
Pressure-feed spray guns deliver material from an external pressurized source rather than a gravity or suction cup. This eliminates the weight of a cup on the gun body, reducing operator fatigue on long spray sessions. More importantly, pressure feed enables continuous material supply without stopping to refill — a critical advantage in high-volume production, large-panel work, and applications where consistent fluid delivery is needed regardless of gun angle or orientation. The Advance HD pressure-feed body maintains the same high-capacity air passages and balanced air valve as the gravity and suction versions for identical atomization quality.
Built for High-Demand Industrial Finishing
The Advance HD achieves superior atomization through high-capacity air passages and a separate balanced air valve that provides unrestricted airflow through the gun body. The heavily anodized aluminum alloy construction is built for durability in demanding production environments. Stainless steel fluid tips, needles, and passageways come standard for compatibility with both solvent-based and waterborne materials. The gun is CE marked and fully ATEX approved for use in hazardous atmospheres.
Ergonomic Design for Reduced Operator Fatigue
The Advance HD features a contoured handle design that greatly reduces RSI and operator fatigue during extended spray sessions. Increased finger space, lighter trigger pull tension, reduced trigger travel, and a self-adjusting PTFE needle packing assembly all contribute to a gun that is comfortable to use shift after shift. The built-in air inlet adjuster "cheater" valve provides at-the-gun pressure control for quick adjustments without leaving the spray area.
