Description
DeVilbiss Advance HD Suction Feed HVLP Spray Gun Kit (ADV-S507-22)
The DeVilbiss Advance HD Suction Feed HVLP Spray Gun Kit (ADV-S507-22) is a mid-sized industrial spray gun built for high-output finishing applications that require HVLP regulatory compliance. This kit includes the Advance HD suction-feed gun body with the No. 507 HVLP air cap, 2.2mm stainless steel fluid tip and needle, and a 1-liter suction cup — ready to spray out of the box. The 507 HVLP cap paired with the large 2.2mm nozzle makes this configuration ideal for high-viscosity materials and heavy-bodied coatings where maximum fluid delivery and compliant transfer efficiency are both required.
What's in the Kit
The ADV-S507-22 ships with the Advance HD suction-feed gun body, No. 507 HVLP air cap, 2.2mm stainless steel fluid tip and needle, and a 1-liter suction cup (KR-556-1-B). The gun features a 1/4" universal thread air inlet and a 3/8" universal thread fluid inlet (both accept BSP and NPS connectors). Optional accessories include the 568mL standard gravity cup (GFC-501), blue polyester gravity cup for difficult fluids (GFC-511), stainless steel fluid filter kit (VSA-512), and tungsten carbide or hardened tips and needles for abrasive materials.
No. 507 HVLP Air Cap Performance
The No. 507 HVLP air cap operates at a recommended inlet pressure of 22 psi (1.5 bar) with an air consumption of 17.3 scfm (490 L/min) and produces a fan pattern of approximately 400mm (15.7"). The 507 is the high-capacity HVLP cap in the DeVilbiss compliant range — it delivers a wide fan pattern with high air volume for fast coverage on large surfaces while maintaining the low pressure at the cap required for HVLP compliance. Paired with the 2.2mm fluid tip, this setup moves heavy-bodied materials efficiently, making it well-suited for high-viscosity primers, sealers, industrial enamels, and protective coatings.
Why Suction Feed
Suction-feed spray guns draw material up from a cup mounted below the gun body using the venturi effect created by compressed air flowing through the air cap. This format is well-suited to applications where frequent color changes are needed, where the gun will be used at various angles, or where a simple and proven setup is preferred. The included 1-liter cup provides ample material capacity for mid-size production runs without the weight of a top-mounted gravity cup.
Built for High-Demand Industrial Finishing
The Advance HD achieves superior atomization through high-capacity air passages and a separate balanced air valve that provides unrestricted airflow through the gun body. The heavily anodized aluminum alloy construction is built for durability in demanding production environments. Stainless steel fluid tips, needles, and passageways come standard for compatibility with both solvent-based and waterborne materials. The gun is CE marked and fully ATEX approved for use in hazardous atmospheres.
Ergonomic Design for Reduced Operator Fatigue
The Advance HD features a contoured handle design that greatly reduces RSI and operator fatigue during extended spray sessions. Increased finger space, lighter trigger pull tension, reduced trigger travel, and a self-adjusting PTFE needle packing assembly all contribute to a gun that is comfortable to use shift after shift. The built-in air inlet adjuster "cheater" valve provides at-the-gun pressure control for quick adjustments without leaving the spray area.
