The coupling plug with anti-kink spring terminates an air line on Wagner powder systems — the spring keeps the hose from kinking and cracking at the fitting, the classic failure point.
Powder coating runs on clean, dry, oil-free air — one slug of moisture or compressor oil contaminates powder and shows up as craters and fisheyes in the cured film. Service the air-side parts on schedule and fix small leaks early; the air system is the cheapest place in the booth to prevent expensive rework.
