The DeVilbiss DV1s Smart/Spot Repair Kit 704531 is the micro configuration of the DV1s platform — the smallest pattern and finest atomization in the DV1s lineup. Built around the DV1-M1 HVLP Micro air cap (704451), this kit delivers a 2.4” spray pattern at just 1.8 SCFM @ 15 PSI handle pressure — purpose-built for the smallest spot repairs where precision and blending control matter more than coverage speed.

The kit includes two micro fluid tips — 0.7mm (704454) and 0.9mm (704455) — plus the 125ml acetal cup sized for the small fluid volumes used in micro repair work. These M-series tips use the DV1-M Needle (704460) and are specific to the Micro air cap configuration.

When should I use the 0.7mm vs the 0.9mm tip?

The 0.7mm is for the smallest, most precise applications — pinpoint stone chip repairs, very thin repair materials, and touch-up work where the absolute minimum fluid delivery is needed. The 0.9mm is the more commonly used micro size for small chip and scratch repairs at standard material viscosities. Both use the same DV1-M Needle (704460). Can I use S-series tips (0.8, 1.0, 1.2mm) with the DV1-M1 Micro cap?

No — the DV1-M1 Micro air cap is designed for use with M-series tips (0.7mm and 0.9mm) and the DV1-M Needle (704460) only. S-series tips (704456–704458) require the DV1-S Needle (704459) and are for use with the DV1-S1+ and DV1-S2 air caps in Kits 704532 and 704533.

Are the DV1s spare parts the same as the DV1 Basecoat and Clearcoat?

No — the DV1s Smart/Spot Repair is a different gun platform with its own specific spare parts. The service kits (704475 Minor, 704476 Major), air valve assembly (704471), rear seal (704470), sleeve kit (704473), spray head kit (704462), and packing kit (905294) are all S-series specific.
