Why Positive Cascade
Negative vs.
Positive Polarity
In corona powder coating, the electrode at the gun tip generates ions that charge powder particles as they pass through. The vast majority of powder coatings — polyester, epoxy, hybrid, acrylic — charge effectively with negative polarity, which is the standard cascade configuration.
Nylon powders are the exception. Nylon requires positive polarity charging for effective adhesion. A standard negative cascade gun will not charge nylon particles efficiently, resulting in poor transfer, uneven coverage, and wasted powder.
The PEA-X1 Basic (+) solves this with the positive cascade module (2421985) — same 100kV, same gun body, same nozzle ecosystem, just reversed polarity. Everything else is identical to the standard PEA-X1 Basic F.
⚠ Important: If you are coating standard organic powders (polyester, epoxy, hybrid, acrylic), use the standard negative cascade PEA-X1 Basic F (2430803) or PEA-X1 Basic R (2430804) instead. Positive cascade is specifically for powders requiring positive polarity.

Compatible Accessories
Same X1 nozzle ecosystem as all PEA-X1 and PEM-X1 variants. The positive cascade only affects charging polarity — all mechanical accessories are interchangeable.
Add electrode holder R (2322490) + deflector cones for round spray with positive polarity
CoronaStar (2322868) for smoother finishes
Angle adapter 0–90° (2431974) for reaching behind flanges
Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What is positive cascade?
Standard corona guns charge powder with negative ions. Positive cascade reverses the polarity to charge with positive ions. This is required for nylon powders, which do not adhere effectively with negative charging.
Can I use this for standard powders?
Positive cascade is designed for powders requiring positive polarity. For standard organic powders, use the PEA-X1 Basic F (2430803) or Basic R (2430804) with negative cascade.
Can I swap between cascades?
The cascade is a module inside the gun body. Positive is 2421985, negative is 2324136. This is not a field-swap operation — contact CET at 586-210-0555 for conversion guidance.
Same nozzles as other PEA-X1?
Yes. All X1 nozzles, deflector cones, CoronaStar, extensions, and angle adapter work identically. Polarity only affects the cascade — all mechanical components are shared.
