The DeVilbiss DV1 Basecoat is the product of direct collaboration between DeVilbiss’ leading engineers and the professional painters who use their tools every day. The result is a spray gun designed from the ground up for consistent, exceptional basecoat results — reducing mottling, balancing the spray pattern, stabilizing air distribution, and delivering superior transfer efficiency from the first trigger pull.

At the heart of the DV1 Basecoat is the integrated digital DGI PRO gauge at eye-level — giving painters exact inlet pressure readings for repeatable color matching across every vehicle, every job, every technician. The co-axial air adjusting valve with 12x sensitivity gives painters fine control over air delivery without shifting hand position during application.

Two kit configurations are available. Kit 704504 includes the DV1-B+ HVLP Plus air cap and three tips (1.2, 1.3, 1.4mm) for both solvent and waterborne systems. Kit 704528 includes the DV1-1+A specialty waterborne cap and a 1.4mm tip for dedicated waterborne operations. Both include the Digital DGI PRO Air Gauge and DPC Adapter.

Which Kit Is Right for Your Shop?

Choose Kit 704504 if…

Your shop sprays both solvent and waterborne basecoats, or you’re unsure which system you’ll be running. The DV1-B+ HVLP Plus cap handles both, the kit includes three tips for different material viscosities, and it’s the best all-around value in the DV1 Basecoat range.

Choose Kit 704528 if…

Your shop has fully committed to waterborne basecoat systems and you want a gun with a specialty cap engineered for waterborne atomization characteristics. The DV1-1+A HVLP cap is purpose-built for waterborne material flow and surface tension — not a compromise cap that handles both.
