Description
C.A. Technologies Lynx 100C Conventional Spray Gun — 1.8mm / 21-2263 Pressure Setup (L100C-18-2263)
100 Series Conventional General Purpose | US Made
The Lynx 100C (L100C) is C.A. Technologies' high quality general purpose conventional spray gun, available in both pressure and siphon feed configurations. The L100C-18-2263 setup pairs the 31-0618 fluid nozzle (1.8mm) with the 21-2263 pressure air cap — delivering 14 CFM and a 14" pattern at 50 PSI. With the largest orifice in the 21-2263 air cap range, this setup delivers the maximum fluid volume available at 14 CFM pressure feed — the right choice for heavy body primers, epoxies, and urethanes where high fluid throughput is needed but the 16.2 CFM draw of the 21-2266-3 is not required or available.
At a Glance
- Feed type: Pressure feed
- Best material types: Heavy body epoxy primers, urethane topcoats, thick industrial enamels, and high-build coatings delivered through a pressure cup or pressure pot
- Air use: 14 CFM @ 50 PSI — moderate-high compressor requirement, lower than the 21-2266-3's 16.2 CFM
- Pattern size: 14" — wide production pattern suitable for panels, structural components, and industrial work
- Why choose this setup: When your material is too heavy to flow well through a 1.2mm or 1.3mm pressure setup but you don't need or can't support the 16.2 CFM of the 21-2266-3 — the 1.8mm / 21-2263 delivers maximum fluid volume for this air cap without requiring a compressor upgrade
- Key included components: 31-0618 fluid nozzle, 40-1115 needle, 21-2263 air cap, 60-1500 fan control assembly

Best for This Setup
The L100C-18-2263 is the heavy-fluid endpoint of the 21-2263 air cap range — same 14 CFM and 14" fan as the 1.2mm and 1.3mm 21-2263 setups, but the 1.8mm orifice flows heavy body coatings that would restrict through a smaller tip. This configuration fits squarely between the lighter pressure setups (L100C-12-2263, L100C-13-2263) and the high-demand 21-2266-3 series: you get 1.8mm fluid volume for thick epoxy primers, high-build urethanes, and heavy industrial enamels without the 16.2 CFM air draw of the 21-2266-3 that can tax smaller shop compressors. It's a practical configuration for industrial maintenance painting, structural steel coating, and production environments where the material is genuinely heavy body but the air supply peaks at or below 14 CFM. If you're currently running a 1.5mm pressure setup and your heavy body primer or urethane is starving or sputtering at the tail end of the cup, stepping to the 1.8mm in the same 21-2263 cap is the direct fix without changing air caps or increasing compressor load.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the L100C-18-2263 best for?
- Heavy body epoxy primers, urethane topcoats, and thick industrial enamels through pressure feed where maximum fluid volume at 14 CFM is needed. The 1.8mm orifice handles materials that would restrict through smaller pressure setups without requiring the higher air demand of the 21-2266-3 series.
- Is the L100C-18-2263 siphon or pressure feed?
- Pressure feed. The 21-2263 is a pressure air cap for use with a pressure cup, pressure pot, or pressure tank. For heavy body siphon feed applications at 1.8mm, see the L100C-18-2366 and L100C-18-2466.
- What air cap does the L100C-18-2263 use?
- The 21-2263 pressure air cap — 14 CFM at 50 PSI, 14" maximum fan pattern. Compatible with 0.6mm through 1.8mm fluid tips.
- What fluid nozzle and needle does this setup use?
- The 31-0618 fluid nozzle (1.8mm / .070") paired with the 40-1115 needle (marked 115). The 115 needle is shared across all 1.5mm and 1.8mm Lynx 100C setups.
- What repair kit fits the Lynx 100C?
- Repair kit 10-106 covers all Lynx 100C configurations. It includes all wear seals, o-rings, springs, and needle seal components needed for a full gun rebuild.
- Where can I find the full parts list and assembly diagram?
- The complete Lynx 100C parts manual — including the full exploded parts diagram, air cap selection chart, and nozzle selection guide — is available for download from the CET manual page linked below.
