Digital Surface Optimizer (DSO) — reduces reject rates on complex parts
The DSO assistance function in the WACON Sprint 2 XE control unit reduces overcharge effects on difficult geometries — the Faraday cage areas, undercuts, and short-spray-distance scenarios where powder traditionally repels and causes orange peel. On decorative coatings and hard-to-cover workpieces, DSO produces a measurably more homogeneous finish. Four quick-select recipes plus 46 stored in the rotary dial means operators can match setup to part without guesswork.

Air Flow Control (AFC) — consistent film build, part after part
Traditional powder guns rely on open-loop air regulation, so actual air volume drifts as line pressure fluctuates. Wagner's AFC technology runs a closed control loop that continuously measures and adjusts air volume in real time. The result: a uniform powder cloud and reproducible film thickness — which matters when your QA spec is ±10 µm or when you're shipping to an OEM.

Quick-Link injector — color changes in minutes, not hours
Traditional injector systems require disconnecting individual hoses, removing venturi nozzles, and cleaning multiple interfaces every color change. Wagner's Quick-Link injector detaches all powder and air hoses simultaneously with one hand. Add the swivel-arm lance scraper — which automatically wipes the suction lance — and shops running multiple colors per shift recover significant production time on every changeover.

Integrated 100 kV cascade — stable charging, even on tough powders
The PEM-X1's integrated high-power cascade maintains stable high voltage even at 100 kV, with three selectable charging curves optimized for different powder chemistries (standard, metallic, low-charge). Integrated cascade cooling extends service life. The replaceable protective wedge in the electrode holder means wear parts are cheap and easy to swap — not a service call.
