OVERVIEW
Portable Powder Coating in a Carrying Case
The Sprint 2 CG is Wagner’s portable cup-gun configuration of the Sprint 2 platform. Unlike the cart-based Sprint 2 B and Sprint 2 H systems that feed from boxes or hoppers, the Sprint 2 CG uses the PEM-X1 CG cup gun that draws powder from a small cup mounted directly on the gun body. The entire system — gun, control unit, cable — fits in a single carrying case that doubles as a stand when open.
Color changes take approximately 15 seconds: swap the powder cup (2324139), purge briefly, start spraying. No hoses to flush, no hopper to clean. Pre-load 5-packs of cups (2324140) with different colors for instant switching.
The system is built around the WACON Sprint 2 X control unit with Air Flow Control (AFC), Digital Surface Optimizer (DSO), 50-recipe memory, and double-click trigger recipe switching. The Sprint 2 X uses a rotary knob interface and delivers the same precision coating control as the XE found on the larger Sprint 2 B and H systems. Plug-in assembly means no tools — connect compressed air and mains power, fill a cup, and start coating.

High-precision closed control loop continuously measures and regulates air volume during spraying, producing a uniform powder cloud even at the cup gun’s lower 200 g/min output.

What’s the difference between the CG and the Sprint 2 B or H?

What is the WACON Sprint 2 X vs the XE?
The Sprint 2 X uses a rotary knob interface with the same DSO, AFC, 50 recipes, and double-click features as the XE. The XE found on the Sprint 2 B and H adds direct-select buttons for the first 4 recipes. Both are functionally identical for coating quality.
Can the cup gun handle larger batches?
The optional 1L cup extension (2399466) attaches to the standard 0.2L cup and allows small-batch coating without constantly refilling. For sustained production, the Sprint 2 B or H systems with box or hopper feed are a better fit.
Same nozzles and accessories as the standard PEM-X1?
Yes. The CG accepts the same flat spray nozzles, electrode holders, deflector cones, CoronaStar, nozzle extensions, and protective wedges as the standard PEM-X1.
What compressed air does the case set need?
Clean, dry, oil-free compressed air at 6–8 bar (87–116 PSI) system pressure. The gun itself operates at 0.3 MPa (3 bar / 44 PSI). Same air quality requirements as all Sprint 2 systems.
Can I wall-mount the control unit?
Yes. An optional wall console is available for permanent mounting of the WACON Sprint 2 X control unit outside the carrying case. This is useful if the CG becomes a dedicated workstation rather than a mobile unit.
What voltage does the case set run on?
The Sprint 2 CG has a universal power input: 85–250V, 47–440 Hz. It runs on any standard wall outlet in the US (120V/60Hz) or internationally without a transformer. Total system draw is only 25W.
