The HV30 is a true HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) air cap that operates at lower inlet pressures (14–25 PSI) but consumes more air (15.5 SCFM). The TE-series High Efficiency air caps operate at slightly higher pressures but use less compressed air while still meeting transfer efficiency requirements. High Efficiency caps are ideal for shops with limited compressor capacity.

Which kit should I choose for waterborne basecoats?

For waterborne basecoats, the High Efficiency kits with TE10 or TE20 air caps (905043, 905044) are the most popular choice. The TE20 runs at the lowest inlet pressure of the HE caps (16–26 PSI) and produces excellent metallic laydown.
