Overview

Automatic.
Production Finishing.

The AB715 is the automatic C.A. Technologies Bobcat — the machine-mount air-assist-airless gun set up with the 36-715 AAA carbide tip (0.015” orifice, 70° angle, ~14” fan) for primers, sealers, and higher-output finishing in production wood and metal finishing.

At 0.015”, fluid delivery is approximately 22 oz/min at 1000 PSI. The all-stainless fluid section handles solvent and waterborne coatings without corrosion; the AAA tip and 26-101 HVLP air cap break the coating into a soft, fine spray with superior transfer efficiency. Maximum working pressure is 2500 PSI fluid.

Airless fluid pressure does the primary atomization; a low volume of HVLP air refines the pattern. Pneumatically actuated for automatic lines — pair with an AAA pump such as the Peak 14:1. A revolutionary needle design simplifies flushing, cleaning, and maintenance.

Why This Configuration?

The Right Automatic
Setup.

Automatic / Machine-Mount Pneumatically actuated for reciprocators, flat-line, and robotic finishing. All-stainless wetted areas suit production wood and metal finishing, and the revolutionary needle design simplifies cleaning and maintenance.
70° / 14” Pattern The 70° spray angle lays down an approximately 14” fan for primers, sealers, and higher-output finishing. Adjust the fan control to narrow the pattern as the work requires.
Recirc or Non-Recirc Ships ready for either plumbing — recirculate through the head (both ports 66-253) or run dead-end (one port blanked, 66-253-B). Circulates close to the tip to keep material from settling.
Direct Competitor Replacement The 36-715 AAA carbide tip mounts on a gun built as a direct replacement for existing competitor automatics — virtually no change to the mounting block or hardware, so retrofits are quick.

0.015” orifice · 70° angle · ~14” pattern. AAA carbide, field-replaceable; tuned for primers, sealers, and higher-output finishing.

Air Cap

26-101

AAA HVLP air cap

Refines airless atomization with a small volume of HVLP air for a soft, fine break-up on production finishes.

Gun Type

AAA · Automatic

Machine-mount · 2500 PSI max

All-stainless fluid section, pneumatically actuated. Requires an AAA pump (e.g., Peak 14:1).

Recirculating or Non-Recirculating

Every Auto Bobcat ships ready for either plumbing. For fluid recirculation through the head, both manifold ports carry fluid inlet 66-253 and fluid can enter from either side. For a non-recirculating (dead-end) setup, one port is blanked with 66-253-B and fluid enters the open side. The gun circulates very close to the tip to keep material from settling.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the automatic different from the hand-held Bobcat?

The Bobcat Automatic is machine-mounted and pneumatically actuated for reciprocators, flat-line, and robotic finishing — no trigger. It runs at up to 2500 PSI fluid and mounts as a direct replacement for common competitor automatic guns with virtually no hardware change.

Can it recirculate fluid?

Yes. Every gun ships able to run recirculating (both ports fitted with 66-253) or non-recirculating (one port blanked with 66-253-B). It circulates close to the tip to keep material from settling. Standard or Cefla (pivot-hub) manifold available.

What tip does the AB715 use?

The 36-715 AAA carbide tip — 0.015” orifice, 70° angle, ~14” pattern — delivering approximately 22 oz/min at 1000 PSI. Tips are field-replaceable; ask CET about other angles and orifices.

What repair kit does it use?

10-144 covers routine soft-seal maintenance; 10-145 adds the needle and needle-seal assembly for a complete overhaul. CET stocks both.
